ICC gets new finance structure, BCCI voted out

Mumbai : The spat between ICC and BCCI is now wide and open. Both the parties are not going to bow down against each others. In the recent development, ICC’s new constitution has brought a huge blow to BCCI as it has been outvoted in meeting.

The BCCI was the only member who was against the new financial model. The richest board was one of the two countries who voted against the new changes. The new model received 9 votes, while governance structure was passed by an 8-2 margin.  

Earlier, the BCCI had rejected the ICC's settlement offer worth approximately $400 million - $100 million more the proposed $290 million as the Indian board wanted $570 million. The BCCI was in favour of the Big Three model.

The settlement offer had been made by ICC chairman Shashank Manohar. Manohar, was the head of the ICC working group that had prepared the proposed new constitution.

The BCCI approached most of the major Full Members with a counter offer, as it gets $570 million but none of the other Full Members get anything less than what was stated in the new constitution.

 

The PCB was the main opponent of BCCI as both the countries are not playing any bilateral series.
