Indian skipper Virat Kohli on Thursday claimed another world record on his name as he smashed AB de Villiers' record to become the fastest to 8000 one-day international runs.
Virat Kohli was in smashing form and took only 175 innings to the milestone and helped his team in fetching an easy win against Bangladesh in the Champions Trophy 2017 semi-final in Birmingham.
Both AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli play for the same team Royal Challengers Bangalore in Indian Premier League.
Earlier, Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar were two Indians holding this record. Sachin Tendulkar had reached the milestone off 210 innings in 1999 before Sourav Ganguly got there off 200 innings three years later.
De Villiers, one of the most destructive batsmen in modern-day cricket, reached the feat in 182 innings during a match against New Zealand in Durban on August 26, 2015.
