All eyes on China as UN plans to tag JeM chief Masood Azhar as 'global terrorist'

New Delhi : All eyes will be on China as the United Nations is likely to tag Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar as 'global terrorist'; the former had thrice blocked the process earlier.

The proposal to designate Masood Azhar as global terrorist was moved by the United Kingdom, United States and France. The move came after India launched air strikes on a ‘terror camp’ run by the JeM in Balakot in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunwa province on February 26.

India has also urged United Nation to list him under the UN Terror list following the dastardly Pulwama terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir on February 14 that killed 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans after an explosive-laden vehicle rammed into a bus in their convoy.

China has not yet come out strongly against Pakistan and has maintained that peace talks should be carried out to ease out tension between India and Pakistan.

Meanwhile, as per reports, India has, for the first time, shared with members of the UNSC recent audio recordings by Masood Azhar to show that he has been active in instigating violence and terror in Kashmir.
