A 25-year-old Maths teacher has been nabbed by cops for allegedly having sex with three students.
Identified as Erin McAuliffe, the culprit teacher used to teach in Rocky Mount Preparatory School in North Carolina; she left her job in the beginning of May.
During the enquiry with other staff members, the cops learned that the incident happened off campus, two 17-year-old and one 16-year-old students have been the victims.
In a statement Rocky Mount Preparatory, which accepts students between the ages of three and 18, said staff had been “fully cooperative” with police in its handling of the matter.
The teacher has been booked with three counts of sexual activity with a student and one of indecent liberties with a minor. She will be presented in the US Court this week.
Dayvon Steel, a former student at Rocky Mount Prep, described the school’s staff network as supportive and caring. “It’s shocking and appalling that a person would do that with a student”, he told CBS North Carolina.
Erin McAuliffe is a graduate from Methodist University and holds a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics. She had joined Rocky Mount Prep in August last year.
