Yezdi to return in India with electric motor cycles
New Delhi : Mahindra-owned Classic Legends Private Limited is known for offering unique motorcycles to India; in 2016, the company had garnered attention with the acquisition of the Jawa and BSA motorcycle brands. They re-launched Jawa motorcycles in 2018 and with an overwhelming response, the company is now planning to diversify the brand further.
According to an exclusive report by NDTV's Car and Bike, it has been learned that the company is planning to re-launch the famous Yezdi bike but in an all-new electric avatar.
Sources close to the development have confirmed Car and Bike that the company is working towards the aforementioned. This comes amid the rising demands of electric vehicles in India.
An India-based component supplier working on the project has also confirmed the development to carandbike including the use of the Yezdi nameplate.
While it has been learned that the major section of the bike will be built in India, the heart of it – the battery – will be imported from China.
Not much has been revealed about the upcoming electric Yezdi bike, but credit to its historic brand value, it is expected that the bike will land to a good response in Indian market.
