Hyundai Verna 1.4 litre petrol version to start from Rs 7.29 lakh in India; Check features and more

New Delhi : Ahead of the official launch of Hyundai's upcoming mid-size sedan car - Verna 1.4 litre petrol - the price has been released and is way too less than its competitors like Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Honda City. The new version of Hyundai Verna will be sold in India from a starting price of Rs 7.29 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

According to a report in ACI, the 1,386cc motor, mated to a five speed manual gearbox is expected to belt out 98.6bhp and 134Nm torque.  Hyundai, however, has not mentioned about the prices of better equipped versions of the car that will be launched in India on Wednesday.

The less-powerful Verna 1.4 is cheaper than the 1.6-litre base variant by Rs 70,000. In terms of engine, the Verna 1.4 sports the same unit that is offered in Hyundai i20 automatic, which may get discontinued soon.

While, features of the car has been kept similar to its 1.6 litre variant. The 1.4E trim gets 15-inch steel wheels, dual airbags, ABS, tilt steering, power mirrors, a trip computer, cooled glovebox, and a rear centre armrest.

Additionally, the 1.4 EX also gets keyless entry, rear parking sensors, projector lamps, a front armrest, a 5.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with four speakers, cruise control, rear AC vents and a driver's seat height adjust.

With aggressive pricing the car has all that is needed to make it a perfect choice in the price segment.
