Jeep set to launch a three-row SUV in premium segment: Report
New Delhi : Jeep will be focusing Indian car market with a set of new offerings to woo the customers. At least three new SUVs are in works, one of which would be a three-seater version, said a news report.
Partha Datta, President and Managing Director, spoke exclusively to NDTV's carandbike to share more information about the new launches under Jeep brand.
The upcoming SUV is likely to belong to the D-segment. Datta told NDTV, "A 3-row SUV will be coming to the Indian market in the near future. In terms of dimensions and size the SUV is closer to the Cherokee (than Grand Cherokee). Nothing else will come between the Compass and the 3-row SUV."
During the interview, Mr. Datta also mentioned about the positives of the BS6 engine which will enhance the overall performance of the cars.
The entire range of Jeep cars in India have been upgraded to BS6 engines.
The report also mentioned him talking about the two more products which the company is planning to launch in India with a balance approach considering the coronavirus pandemic.
He also revealed that there are plans of completely electrifying the car engines in coming years. But the launch of such products will heavily depend on the demand of the customers in the market.
