New Delhi : Porsche India has launched Taycan electric supercar in the nation. This is the company's first-ever electric car offering.

According to a report by NDTV, the car has been priced in India at Rs 1.50 crore (ex-showroom) onwards. The automaker will also be offering the Taycan Cross Turismo variants in India.

The car has been launched in a direct competition with Audi e-tron GT in the niche segment. The model will be available in four trims - Taycan, Turbo, Turbo S, and 4S.

The Taycan Turbo S sports saloon is the most powerful sports car in the Porsche range. It develops 750 bhp and can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 2.8 seconds.

According to the report, the sports car comes with a driving range of 484 kms in a full charge with the Performance Battery Plus (WLTP cycle).

The standard Taycan gets a single-deck 79.2 kWh Performance Battery and the entry-level model churns out 402 bhp in overboost mode. There's the Launch Control too that increases the power output to 469 bhp with the optional two-deck 93.4 kWh Performance Battery Plus.

The electric car segment is getting popular in India and it will be interesting to see how people will respond to the electric sports car offering.
