Spied: Datsun cross on roads ahead of official launch

New Delhi : Spied on road images of Datsun Cross have surfaced on the internet ahead of its official global launch. The car is inspired from the Datsun Go Cross Concept that was first showcased at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show and was subsequently showcased at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo.

According to the images being circulated on the internet, the Datsun Cross will sport a touch-screen infotainment system, revised dashboard layout and a CVT automatic transmission.

The car is also likely to get safety and security features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking camera, parking sensors and keyless entry.

Datsun Cross is likely to be powered with a decent 1.2 litre three-cylinder engine (petrol) and the popular 1.5-litre K9K diesel motor from Renault.

The petrol unit produces 67 BHP of power and 104 Nm of peak torque. The oil burner, on the other hand, might be made available in the 84 BHP/200 Nm state of tune. Both engines will come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

With Datsun famous for its aggressive pricing in the market, the car is believed to be priced amid Rs 5 to 8 lakhs per unit in India.
