Dr Hathi returns on Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma: All you need to know

New Delhi : Post demise of Kavi Kumar Azad, Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma had been running without its character of Dr Hathi, who made a return on TV with Tuesday's episode.

Actor Nirmal Soni has returned in the character of Dr Hathi for the show amid celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi.

On the show, Gokuldham residents are gloomy over the fact that rain has battered the Mumbai and they can't find a way out to bring Ganesha idol in the society. The moment everyone gives up, Dr Hathi wades through the water and brings in the idol, leaving everyone filled with the joy.

Nirmal Soni as Dr Hathi is not new; ten years back he had played the character. Talking about returning to the show, Nirmal Soni said, ''Life is a circle and I feel extremely happy to be a part of this show again after a decade and meet all my co-artists. The entire team has been so supportive and co-operative. I’m happy that I got the opportunity to play Dr. Haathi’s character again after 10 years. It is incredible to see Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah running so strongly and I am grateful to its creator and producer Asit Modi for re-considering me.''
