Mumbai : Remember, Ranveer Singh’s portrayal of Alauddin Khilji in Padmaavat? His extra-ordinary look has set the audience awestruck and their expectation raised high for him. Now, he is all set to entertain as cop Sangram Bhalerao in Rohit Shetty's Simmba.

Indeed, Ranveer Singh shared the first look from his film Simmba and captioned the photo, "Rohit Shetty Ka hero. Caps Lock mein."

However, his appearance in the photo is similar to Ajay Devgn's Singham. Interestingly, Ajay Devgn will also make a cameo in the film.

Sources confirmed that the first schedule of the film is two months long. Simmba is the remake of the Telugu film, Temper.

The film talks about a corrupt police officer who takes on a local goon.

Simmba is said to be an "out-and-out action masala entertainer", which will retain some elements of Temper, although the script has been re-designed to suit the temperament of Hindi audience. "Around 20 per cent of the original story will be retained; the rest will be amended to suit our audience," said Rohit.

Sara Ali Khan is the female lead in the film. She is all together shooting for Simmba as well as Abhishek Kapoor's Kedarnath.

Simmba is expected to hit the theatre on December 28, this year.
