New Delhi : TV actress Mouni Roy has been working in the television industry since long, also has made space in the hearts of all with her different performances. According to the reports of DNA and Mumbai Mirror, Mouni has bagged a role in Bollywood industry.

Yes, Mouni Roy will hit the big screen with Akshay Kumar. The name of the film will be Gold. The film will be a sports-drama and is a  Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani film. The film will be directed by Reema Kagti.

Akshay Kumar who will be seen in the main lead in the film earlier announced that the film will release on Independence Day n 2018. 

The story of the film Gold is of 1948 and will be based upon the historic event of India’s first Olympic medal as a free nation, which came at the year's Summer Olympics in London.

According to a DNA, “Mouni will be seen in a completely different avatar to suit the era. She will shoot for the film for 20-25 days in August and is one of the few female characters in the otherwise male-dominated narrative. She will be shooting extensively with Akshay. It is scripted by Rajesh Devraj and is a fictional take on the momentous game. Hockey will feature prominently in the plot but it is a strong human drama. Gold follows 12 crucial years in India's history as well."
