New Delhi : Veteran actor Dr Hemu Adhikari died at his residence in Dadar, Mumbai on Monday. He was suffering from lung ailment for long time and took his last breath, when he was 81. Besides a legendary actor of big screen, he was a popular theatre performer. 

Late Adhikari, got immense popularity because of his cameo in Rajkumar Hirani’s Lage Raho Munna Bhai which was launched in 2006. He was suffering from a lung infection for the last one-and-a-half years. He acted in Sai Paranjpe’s Katha and Marathi films like Dhyaas Parya and Harishchandrachi Factory.

Adhikari’s family informed that his last rites were performed last night, the sources said. The actor is left behind him, his wife, two daughters and a son.

Celebrated Bollywood and Marathi film actor Sonali Kulkarni expressed her condolences on Adhikari’s death.

“Sad to know the demise of our dear friend, wonderful actor, sharp audience, deep thinker, passionate reader and a fearless, concerned citizen..RIP Hemukaka you’ll be missed #RIP,” Kulkarni tweeted.

Other television actors, Bollywood celebrities expressed their deep grief on Hemu’s death. His acting skill was noteworthy and it is obvious that the film industry will miss this talented man.  Adhikari is survived by his acting work in the heart of his fans.
