New Delhi : A six-storey under-construction building fell on top of a four-storey in Greater Noida near Delhi on Tuesday night. Reports confirmed that eighteen families lived in the four-storey building. Three people have been confirmed dead. Search and rescue operations are underway. 

The unfortunate incident in Greater Noida's Shah Beri village took place at night on July 17. Two NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) teams are undertaking rescue operations along with the police team trying to control the messed up situation.

Three people have been arrested in connection with the building collapse reports ANI. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked the District Magistrate to follow up with the National Disaster Response Force team and Police for relief measures and to ensure immediate rescue. 

Local people in Beri village told that the building that collapsed was constructed 2 years ago & many flats were left unoccupied. Police fear some dozens to be trapped inside including kids.

"As of now, we don't know what happened. It is too early to say anything in this regard. Our motive right now is to save any life that is left. Rescue operations by NDRF are underway," Kumar Vineet, additional district magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar, said

“District administration and NDRF teams are engaged in rescue and search operations. Some people are feared trapped in the rubble. Our thoughts are with the families of those who died in the incident”, says KP Maurya, Deputy Chief Minister on Greater Noida building collapse.
