ICICI Bank Cheating Case: CBI officer probing Chanda Kochhar transferred after complaint
New Delhi : A Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) officer probing Chanda Kochhar in ICICI bank cheating case has been transferred – a day after a case against them was registered, said a report by NDTV.
A war of words begun between Congress and BJP as the Union Minister Arun Jaitley called it "investigative adventurism", while Congress said that the government is again interfering in the agency's investigation to safeguard their "suited booted friends".
The CBI officer Sudhanshu Dhar Mishra has been transferred to the agency's Economic Offences branch in Ranchi.
One day before his transfer, the agency had registered case against ICICI Bank's Chanda Kochhar, her husband Deepak Kochhar and Videocon head Venugopal Dhoot.
They are accused of massive irregularities in obtaining a loan for the Videocon Group and channelling a part of it into a firm founded by Deepak Kochhar, which suggests a quid pro quo.
