New Delhi : In a major twist to Kerala Love Jihad case, Hadiya on Tuesday filed an affidavit in Supreme Court mentioning her desire to remain a Muslim girl. She also mentioned that she wants to remain wife of Shafin Jahan.

In November last year, Hadiya had said that no one forced her to convert into Islam."I am a Muslim. I want to go with my husband. Nobody forced me to convert," she had said.

Hindu by birth, Hadiya had converted into Islam few months before her marriage, resulting in controversy at her college where she was admitted as Hindu religion girl.

The Supreme Court bench directed the college and the university to re-admit Hadiya and grant her hostel facilities.

He had said that she had wanted to go to Syria after converting to Islam. "Hadiya does not have any idea about Syria, where she wanted to go after converting to Islam," he had said and had added, "I cannot have a terrorist in the family."
