Sunny Leone's Navratri theme condom ad draws criticism

Surat : The Navratri season is all set to hit the nation and advertisers are not leaving any opportunity to make the most of it. A condom manufacturer, Manforce, whose brand ambassador is Sunny Leone, put up hording ads at several places with a tag line ‘Aa Navratri a ramo, parantu premthi’ which which means ‘This Navratri, play but with love.’

A Hindu community did not accept linkage of Navratri to a condom ad and claimed that this has hurt religious sentiments.

“The message in Gujarati on the hoarding reads ‘Aa Navratri a ramo, parantu premthi’ – this Navratri, play but with love. The insinuation on the hoardings from a condom brand insults the religious sentiments of Hindus,” said Narendra Chaudhary, a businessman who serves as the group’s leader told TOI.

“This cannot be tolerated and our protests will get stronger if these hoardings are not removed immediately. Protests are necessary to deter others from trying something similar again in future,” he added.

On the work front, Sunny Leone will be seen next in ‘Tera Intezaar’ opposite Arbaaz Khan.
