New Delhi : Robotic process automation company Automation Anywhere on Monday partnered EdCast for "futureskills," a Nasscom skilling initiative, to train Indian students in robotics.

Automation Anywhere will provide upskilling programmes in the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) domain under the initiative, the company said in a statement.

RPA is among the 8 technologies identified by IT industry's apex body which are poised to grow tremendously, both nationally and globally.

"We are proud to be a part of this prestigious initiative and mission-critical national agenda," said Ankur Kothari, Chief Revenue Officer and Co-Founder of Automation Anywhere.

"As RPA continues its rapid adoption at the enterprise level, we see India driving this trend worldwide. It is not only opening multi-billion opportunities for Indian enterprises and creating lakhs of job opportunities which did not exist until recently, but also leading a big push for the country's rich engineering talent pool," Kothari explained.

As part of the agreement, subscribers on "futureskills" portal will have exclusive access to Automation Anywhere University (AAU) training programmes that encompass RPA technology overviews, theoretical concepts, typical business cases, and hands-on practice exercises.

The programme will empower the students with globally-recognised Automation Anywhere certifications. Through the programme, Automation Anywhere is aiming to train over one lakh students and professionals in 2018.

"We have the processes, expertise and technology platform to lead the world in process automation. We predict RPA, as a category, can create new job opportunities in the range of 2,90,000-3,20,000 lakh over the next three years," said Amit Aggarwal, CEO, IT/ITES Sector Skill Council of Nasscom.
