New Delhi : Dismissed with 3 runs short to his ton, Virat Kohli played yet another captain's knock to keep India strong on Day 1 of 3rd Test against England at Trent Bridge on Saturday.

India reached 307 runs for the loss of 6 wickets by the end of game on Day 1.

England, who are leading five match series 2-0, decided to bowl first after winning the toss. They also managed to get some quick wickets in the morning session but later Ajinkya Rahane and Virat Kohli took the battle in their hands and gave India a respectable sum of runs.

Ajinkya Rahane and Virat Kohli managed a 159-run partnership for the fourth wicket. The pair battled through the afternoon session when ball stopped jagging around. This was also India's best partnership of the series until Rahane was out on 81.

Team India managed to save the day and will now look forward to win the game and keep their hopes for the series alive.
