New Delhi : Now, WhatsApp Messenger will have new feature to download deleted media content in the user phone. Ranked as the top messenger app in the technology world, whatsapp challenges to give best user experience and for now, it has made changes in its media storage protocol.

Facebook-owned WhatsApp is a free platform for sending of text messages and voice calls, as well as video calls, images and other media, documents, and user location. The user-friendly messenger was created in 2009 by Brian Acton and Jan Koum, former employees of Yahoo!

Earlier, whenever the user of WhatsApp received files such as images, GIFs and short clips, the messenger used to store them on its server (for 30 days) till the time they were downloaded by the user. Due to this protocol, if the users deleted the media content on their phone, they could not retrieve them back ever again.

For now, WhatsApp has made changes in its media storage protocol. It has decided to store all the messages and multimedia content on its server even if it is downloaded by the user. The server is encrypted so that it cannot be accessed by anybody other than the user.

The new feature is available in WhatsApp for Android version (2.18.113) and is expected to come to iOS soon, reported WABetaInfo
