New Delhi : Bad News! WhatsApp will stop to support several smartphones this year. Yes, the chat company has updated few more names to its list of phones that would stop supporting WhatsApp soon. The company has announced a new list of handsets that will stop receiving WhatsApp update by the end of the year 2018.

The chat company mentions that it is ending its support on these phones because they won't be able to support all the new features that WhatsApp plans to add in the future. Some of the devices have already stopped supporting the chat app while some will soon lose support by the end of this year.

WhatsApp also suggests its users to upgrade to a newer Android version in case they are using an old one. " ... we'll no longer actively develop for these operating systems, some features might stop functioning at any time. If you currently use an older operating system, we recommend upgrading to a newer version...," says the chat company.

Take a look at the operating systems that have already stopped supporting WhatsApp:

Android versions older than 2.3.3

Windows Phone 8.0 and older

iPhone 3GS/iOS 6

Nokia Symbian S60

BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10

Now, these operating systems will lose the support of WhatsApp by this year-end:

Nokia S40 until December 31, 2018

Android versions 2.3.7 and older until February 1, 2020

iOS 7 and older until February 1, 2020

WhatsApp, now, suggests you to upgrade to a newer version or to one of these:

Android running OS 4.0 and above

iPhone running iOS 8 and above

Windows Phone 8.1 and above

It’s high time to check the operating system in your smartphone and reframe the old version with the new one which can abide by the rules of WhatsApp. Be sure to do it right now!
