New Delhi : India is all set to welcome Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on a two-day visit where he will lay foundation stone for a dream Bullet train project with PM Narendra Modi in Gujarat. The first bullet train will run between Gujarat and Mumbai.
During his two days visit, many parts of the city will be partially closed to ensure smooth transport for the guests. Here is the official itinerary issued on Tuesday:
Prime Minister Abe and Prime Minister Modi would fly into Ahmedabad on Wednesday afternoon and drive down straight to Mahatma Gandhi's Sabarmati Ashram in the evening. They would visit the iconic 16th century mosque in the old city, Sidi Saiyad Mosque, known for its window filigree work synonymous with Ahmedabad.
The day will be concluded with dinner and a closed door meeting at a heritage hotel - House of MG - next to the mosque.
Both Abe and Modi will lay foundation stone for India's dream bullet train project worth Rs 1.08 lakh crore at Sabarmati Athletic Grounds near Sabarmati railway station.
Post this, the two dignitaries would attend the 12th India-Japan Annual Summit at the sprawling auditorium complex Mahatma Mandir in state capital Gandhinagar. This will be the fourth time when Shinzo Abe will be holding meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The two Prime Ministers will also visit Dandi Kutir, a museum dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, at the Mahatma Mandir. They would later visit Science City for a dinner hosted by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani before the Japanese Prime Minister leaves for Tokyo on Thursday night.
