Tata sons board gets new directors Ralf Speth and N Chandrasekaran

New Delhi :

In a fresh twist in the Tata sons controversy, CEO Ratan Tata on Tuesday appointed Ralf Speth, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover, and N. Chandrasekaran, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Consultancy as directors in the company.

The move came a day after Tata Group ousted Cyrus Mistry from the post of chairman, Ratan Tata returned as CEO and on Tuesday directed the CEOs of group firms to focus on their business without being distracted by change in top leadership.

It may be mentioned here that on Monday afternoon, Cyrus Mistry the chairman of Tata Sons Board was voted out and was replaced by his predecessor Ratan Tata.

While interacting with the CEOs of group, Ratan Tata said, “We will continue to take those steps that are required, If there is any change, they will be discussed with you."

As per the sources Ratan Tata did not discuss the reasons which led to the abrupt removal of Mistry.

Tata was further quoted saying, he assumed the role of the interim chairman in view of the stability so that there is no emptiness.

However, he further clarified that, "This move is for a short time, soon a new permanent leader will be in place."
