Uri attack: 17 soldiers martyred, all terrorists killed in strike at Army base

Srinagar : Four terrorists on Sunday morning stormed inside Army base in Uri ( Jammu and Kashmir), killing at least 17 soldiers and injuring 19 in the suicide attack. The incident has been dubbed as one of the most deadly attacks on Army in last one decade.

Heavily armed militants attacked headquarter of the 12th Brigade at Uri in Baramulla District at around 4:00am. All four terrorists have been neutralized by the army, and combing operation is underway to sanitize the area.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh kept a close eye on the developments and also shared status with defense minister Manohar Parrikar and Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.

"Keeping the situation of Jammu and Kashmir in mind and in the wake of the terror attack in Uri, I have postponed my visits to Russia and the US," Rajnath Singh said in a series of tweets.
