Uri terror attack: India mourns 17 slain soldiers, PM Narendra Modi chairs high-level meet at 7 RCR

New Delhi : In the backdrop of Uri terror strike on Sunday in Baramulla district, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday chaired a high-level security meeting at his residence 7RCR in New Delhi. 

Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar were present at the meeting to brief PM Modi about the situation in Jammu and Kashmir

According to top sources quoted by NDTV.com the government is clear there must be a calibrated response from India to the attack. India, the sources said, could raise the Uri attack at the United Nations General Assembly, which is in session in New York.

# In Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with top ministers to shape the government's response in Uri terror attack.

# Rajnath Singh and Manohar Parrikar were present in the meeting which was held at PM’s residence 7RCR.

# Rajnath Singh held a separate meeting with Mr Parrikar and Army Chief Dalbir Singh, both of who visited Jammu and Kashmir yesterday after the attack, and other top officials.

# On Sunday morning at 4:00am, four terrorists had sneaked into Army base firing AK-47s and throwing grenades.

# India has put a straight blame on the neighbouring nation Pakistan. "Pakistan is a terrorist state and it should be identified and isolated as such," Home Minister Rajnath Singh said.

# Pakistan has rejected India's claims and called it a baseless allegation.

# The terrorists are believed to have crossed a canal along the Line of Control, cut through the fencing and infiltrated into Kashmir.
