Quetta : 60 cadets have been reported dead and 118 injured in a terror attack on a police training centre at Quetta in Balochistan. The authorities have alleged involvement of banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi group in the attack.

Earlier, it was said that five to six gunmen stormed the Quetta Police Training College; but now officials claim that three militants carried out attack on Monday night and were receiving information from Afghanistan.

The provincial home minister also blamed Indian intelligence agencies for the attack but did not give any evidence to back up his claim.

Maj Gen Sher Afgan, chief of the paramilitary Frontier Corps in Balochistan, said, “The attack was over in around three hours and the terrorists were communicating with their handlers in Afghanistan.”

No terrorist outfit has taken responsibility of the attack.

Nearly 250 cadets were inside when gunmen stormed the hostel, said Government spokesman Anwaul Haq.

The attack on hostel came hours after two custom officers were shot dead by gunmen near the town of Surab, 145 kms away from Quetta.
