Los angeles : The coming of Donald Trump as the President of United States of America took a different turn on Wednesday after protesters took to the streets in at least 10 cities to march against him.

The outrage also saw numerous college students and faculty leaders taking to social media to announce support groups and even postponed exams challenging Trump’s Presidential victory.

Several protesters gathered in Downtown Los Angeles in response to Donald Trump's presidential victory. 

Many other protests have been reported in cities across the country, including Chicago, Seattle and New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington, D.C., Portland, Ore., St. Paul, Minn. 

Students expressed their frustration at the Trump victory over Democrat and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Many slogans were heard including "Not My President" and "No Racist USA." 

In New York thousands of demonstrators blocked off streets around Trump Tower. A similar scene was witnessed in Boston, thousands of anti-Donald Trump protesters streamed through downtown, chanting "Trump's a racist" and carrying signs that said "Impeach Trump" and "Abolish Electoral College."

Protesters gathered near the Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago to express their displeasure with the president-elect.

Dozens of people blocked traffic in downtown Portland, Oregon and burned American flags and forced a delay for trains on two light-rail lines. 

The crowd also chased Trump supporters who taunted the demonstrators with signs. In an instance, a Trump supporter was chased across Pioneer Courthouse Square and hit in the back with a skateboard before others intervened.

Trump defeated Clinton by winning 279 electoral votes in comparison to Hillary’s 228 electoral votes.
