Los Angeles : In a shocker to Donald Trump’s presidency, US intelligence analysts on Monday concluded that Russia intervened in the 2016 election to help President-elect win the White House.

In fact, US intelligences also assessed that Russian government officials devoted increasing attention to assisting Trump’s effort to win the election.

However, the news was refuted by the president-elect’s transition office. They released a statement attacking the US intelligence community and said that soon Trump will command and prove any such allegations wrong.

The statement read: “These are the same people that said Saddam Hussein has weapons of mass destruction. The election ended a long time ago in one of the biggest Electoral College victories in history. It’s now time to move on and ‘Make America Great Again.'”

The news has picked up momentum with Democrats and few Republicans in Congress calling for a full scale investigation into Russia’s election year activities.

Representative Adam Schiff of California, the ranking Democrat on the House intelligence committee, said in a statement, “Protecting the integrity of our elections is hindered when President-elect Trump and his transition team minimize or dismiss the intelligence assessments themselves.”

The issue came to spotlight after the US government in October publicly accused Russia of a campaign of cyber attacks against Democratic Party organizations ahead of the Nov. 8 presidential election.

Following the accusations, Barack Obama launched a formal investigation in the issue.
