Delhi : Automobile producers like Toyota, Tata, Mahindra, and Citroen are getting ready to launch new family cars (7-seater models) in the upcoming months as the utility vehicle (UV) segment continues to dominate sales with approximately 2,362,500 units sold in the first seven months of this year, representing a YoY growth of 9%. Let's get into the specifics of these forthcoming family vehicles.

Coming 7-Seater Family Vehicles

Toyota Rumion

With a few minor visual changes, the Toyota Rumion is simply a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. Price declarations are anticipated to occur during the first week of September 2023. With its redesigned front bumper with chrome highlights, fog lamps, new dual-tone machined alloy wheels, and LED taillamps, the MPV displays design inspirations from the Innova Crysta.

Three trims—the S, G, and V—will be available for the model lineup. Toyota will provide two fuel options for the Rumion: a 1.5L normally aspirated gasoline engine and a CNG version, with respective power outputs of 103bhp with 137Nm and 88bhp with 121.5Nm.

Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus

In September 2023, the Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus, which comes in both 7- and 9-seater versions, is scheduled to go on sale. The SUV will be driven by a 2.2L diesel engine with 120 horsepower. It will be equipped with a 2WD drivetrain and a 6-speed manual transmission. The 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, a height-adjustable driver's seat, fabric upholstery, rear parking sensors, and cruise control are anticipated features, though official information is still pending.

Citroen C3 Aircross

Beginning in October 2023, consumers will be able to choose between a 5-seater and a 7-seater version of the Citroen C3 Aircross SUV. The 7-seater model will have third-row USB charging connections and roof-mounted AC vents with blower control for second-row and third-row passengers. With the third-row seats folded down, it will have a large boot capacity of 511 liters. A 6-speed transmission will be connected to a 1.2L turbocharged gasoline engine that will power both variants. This engine will have a fuel economy of 18.5 kmpl and produce 110 horsepower and 190 nm of torque.
