Delhi : Tata Motors is getting ready to change its brand image for electric vehicles. In advance of at least two models—the Nexon EV facelift and the Punch EV—the automaker today previewed the new brand mark for EVs. The next Nexon electric SUV is expected to debut with the new brand identity.ev when it goes on sale on September 14. It differs slightly from the EV branding present on Tata's current electric vehicles.

Three years ago, when Tata Motors took a test drive in the Nexon EV, the previous brand identity was introduced. On Tuesday, Tata Motors posted the updated brand logo on social media. In addition, it has hinted at its impending electric car models by using the phrase "A new era beckons." Tata Motors currently leads the EV segment by a wide margin over its competitors after selling more than one lakh electric vehicles so far in India. Soon, the automaker wants 50% of its cars to be electric.

Tata Motors announced earlier this month that it would introduce four electrified cars soon. New models like the Punch EV, Harrier EV, and Curvv EV are among them. The Harrier EV was on display by Tata Motors at the Auto Expo 2023 earlier this year in Greater Noida. During the event, it had also displayed the Curvv EV Concept and its ICE variant. The Punch EV, which is based on the manufacturer's smallest SUV, will also become the smallest electric SUV launched in the market.

Except for the fact that it will include V2L capability, Tata has not provided much details regarding the Harrier EV. The Tata Curvv EV, which is most likely going to be dubbed Tata Frest, will be built around the automaker's Gen2 powertrain and have a range of up to 500 km. Tata Punch EV is the sole model that the automaker hasn't yet unveiled. The tiny SUV's CNG variant was just released by the automaker.

On September 14, Tata Motors will also introduce the Nexon EV with a facelift. In advance of its launch, the Nexon EV, Tata's best-selling electric vehicle, has already been seen testing on a number of occasions. The new Nexon EV will receive significant design updates, taking cues from the Curvv Concept EV and Harrier EV, even though there won't be much changes to the drivetrain.
