Reliance Jio delivers promise, creates world record in less than a month
New Delhi : Reliance Jio successfully managed to deliver the words Mukesh Ambani had claimed during the launch of the service in India.
Reliance with its Jio services has created a world record of getting 16 million subscribers in less than a month of its launch.
The commercial operation of the company had started on September 5, 2016. And 16 million people have enrolled for it in 26 days.
An official statement to claim the word says, "achieved this growth faster than any other telecom operator or startup in the world, including the likes of Facebook, Whatsapp, and Skype".
Mukesh Ambani-owned company landed in India with a welcome offer that allows users to enjoy all Jio services free of cost till 31st December 2016.
Rivals and their strategies
Soon after Mukesh Ambani introduced Reliance Jio to India, the rival companies started scratching their heads and came up with their own strategies to retain their users with them.
Rival companies such as Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular reduced their data plans instantly and also announced free voice calling in some of their voice plans.
Currently, market leader Airtel has over 257 million users, followed by Vodafone with over 200 million and Idea, nearly 177 million.
How to get Jio sim activated in minutes
Reliance Jio said that it has introduced Aadhaar-based paperless Jio SIM activation across 3,100 cities and towns, which enables a customer to complete the SIM activation process in a matter of minutes, with only an Aadhaar number.
Steps to get a Jio sim
# Visit a reliance store or a retailer near your home.
# Ask for you Reliance Jio 4G sim
# Install My Jio app on your 4G smartphone
# Get a unique id for your device
# Give it to the retailer and ask him to activate the sim with the help of your Aadhaar card number.
# After verification of details, users will be able to use Jio sim services with ease.
