The government recently allowed Indians to quote Aadhaar Card number with PAN card in case of high value transactions. Adding to it, the government will be imposing a penalty of Rs 10,000 in case any one provides wrong or fake Aadhaar number during the transaction.

Indians can now use their Aadhaar card for cash transactions above Rs 50,000 and all other purposes in place of PAN card, said a top official.

Aadhaar card can now be used as a substitute of PAN card for all the purposes, including filing of tax returns, said Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during Budget presentation.

The government has extended the last date to link Aadhaar Card and Pan Card by six months till September 30. However, it has been mandatory to link the cards in order to successfully file Income Tax returns.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on Tuesday advised schools not to make 12-digit biometric identifier a compulsion for students’ admission.

Candidates who are going to take the upcoming All India Bar Examination (AIBE) XIII may download the admit cards released at the official website. The AIBE XIII exam is scheduled to be held on December 23 and admit cards are available for download at allindiabarexamination.com. The link to download admit card will be activated today from 6 pm.
