New Delhi : The budget airline in India, IndiGo, has now hiked its reservation charges for the front seats which have extra leg room and space on the aircraft. Passengers will now have to pay extra Rs 2000 to book their front seat row.

The new updated prices have been officially updated on the airline’s website.

For an A321 aircraft with 222 seats, if you are selecting a window or aisle seat on the front row, it will cost you Rs 2000. For the second and third row, all seat types have been given a flat rate of Rs 400.

"In case you don't wish to purchase a preferred seat you can always select any free seat available or would be assigned a seat free of charge at the time of check-in at the airport," according to IndiGo's website.

The seat reservation charges are same for aircrafts A321, which comes with 232 seats, and for aircraft A320 which comes with 180 seats

Indigo is one of the major airlines in the Indian market with a market share of about 60%.
