Kriti Sanon hikes fees after Luka Chuppi success: Report

New Delhi : Actress Kriti Sanon is riding high on the success of her recently released movie Luka Chuppi that grossed over Rs 120 crores on the Box Office. A news report claims that she has hiked her fees.

According to a report in Mid Day, the actress is increasing her fees as she has given hits like Bareilly Ki Barfi, Luka Chuppi and more, and is confident that she can shoulder a film all by herself.

A source close to the development told the news portal, "While Kriti had already signed Housefull 4 and Arjun Patiala last year, she has now come on board Amar Kaushik's surrogacy film that will be produced by Dinesh Vijan. For the budget that Luka Chuppi was made in, it emerged as a hit, making a fair amount of profit for Vijan. Since Kaushik's film on surrogacy has Sanon's character taking the narrative forward, she will be required to do most of the heavy lifting."

The source added, "If one considers the responsibility of carrying this film on her shoulders, coupled with her past successes, Kriti is fair in asking for a pay hike. For her forthcoming films, including the Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra project that she is in talks for, she is expected to command a fee which is a 40 per cent jump from her current remuneration."

Earlier, Kriti Sanon had raised objections over the Kartik Aaryan taking all the credit for the success of Luka Chuppi.

When a daily asked her about the same, she said, "This business of overlooking the leading lady has been going on for a while and it's so unfair. I am glad this conversation is finally happening."

"It's logical to talk about only the male protagonist when the leading lady doesn't have a lot to do, but when they are both carrying a film on their shoulders, the credit should be equally shared. Everybody deserves a mention," she added.
