Rahul Gandhi ate non-veg food before Kailash Mansarovar Yatra? Here is the truth

New Delhi : One day after a Nepali website claimed that Congress President Rahul Gandhi ate non-veg food before the beginning of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, the hotel has issued a statement giving clarification on the news.

The Congress President had left for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra on August 31. He had desired to undertake the yatra during Karnataka Assembly Election.

Bharatiya Janata Party's in charge of information technology initiatives quoted a news report that claimed Rahul Gandhi had eaten non-veg food at Kathmandu’s Vootoo restaurant before starting Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.

“Rahul Gandhi ate non-veg during Kailash Mansarovar yatra, tells restaurant waiter,” Malviya tweeted, claiming,” It has become habit of Congress and its party chief to hurt sentiments of Hindus.”

Reacting to it, the hotel issued a statement on its official page, saying that the Congress President ordered complete veg food. “There has been plenty of inquiry from the media regarding the food ordered by Rahul Gandhi, President of Indian National Congress during his visit at Vootoo. We would like to clarify that he ordered pure veg items from the menu. Vootoo has not given any statement to any media regarding the food items ordered by him. Thank You..,” the restaurant said on its official Facebook page.
