Noida : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the Parthala flyover in Noida on June 25. This bridge has been eagerly awaited by the people. It is similar to the famous Signature Bridge in Delhi and is the first cable-stayed bridge in Noida. The flyover is equipped with advanced technology and is expected to ease traffic congestion in the area. The construction of the bridge began before the Covid-19 pandemic and was originally planned to be completed in 2022. However, after facing delays, it has finally been opened to the public.

The Parthala Bridge is located on the FNG Corridor, connecting Noida with Greater Noida West and also Ghaziabad with Faridabad. It can accommodate up to 200,000 vehicles passing over it. People coming from Noida Sector 120, Noida Sector 119, Noida Sector 122, and Noida Sector 72 can now reach Greater Noida West using this bridge. Likewise, those traveling from Greater Noida and Faridabad on the FNG corridor can reach Ghaziabad without encountering traffic.

This high-tech flyover will be constantly monitored for structural information, with a system in place to track its condition. The bridge is equipped with various sensors, and each cable supporting the bridge is connected to a sensor. An Electromagnetic Force Monitoring System forms the foundation for these sensors. The sensors can detect vibrations, including those caused by earthquakes, and activate warning alarms.

The Greater Noida West township has experienced a population boom in recent years, with many builders offering affordable housing. However, residents have been facing issues with inadequate infrastructure, leading to heavy traffic during peak hours. To address this problem, the Noida Authority has announced various development projects in the area.

While the Parthala Bridge is now open to the public, the construction of the Greater Noida West Metro is still awaiting final approval. The metro line will connect Sector 51 on the Aqua Line to Sector 3 in Greater Noida West and will have a total of five stations in the first phase of its construction.
