New Delhi : It has been 12 years when Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar became the first man on earth to score a double century in ODIs.

He had achieved the feat against South Africa at the captain Roop Singh stadium in Gwalior. He had scored 200 runs on 147 balls. In his innings, Sachin scored 25 fours and 3 sixes.

With his brilliant knock, India scored 401 runs in allotted fifty overs. Led by MS Dhoni, Team India managed a 153 run win over Proteas.

Sachin Tendulkar had announced his retirement in 2013. Till date he is the highest run-scorer in both ODIs and Tests.

Other than Sachin Tendulkar, India's Rohit Sharma has managed double century thrice in ODIs. He also holds the record of highest individual score in ODIs.

Rohit Sharma has scored 264 runs in 173 balls against Sri Lanka at Eden Garden in Kolkata.
