New Delhi : The legendary on-field rivalry between India and Pakistan in world cricket is no hidden secret, but there have also been heartwarming moments between players from both teams off the field. One such instance was seen during the Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 match that was halted due to rain. Shaheen Afridi approached new-dad Jasprit Bumrah with a special gift.

Jasprit Bumrah and his wife Sanjana Ganesan had recently welcomed a baby boy, and Shaheen had a thoughtful present for them. The two fast bowlers shared a warm embrace, and Shaheen offered his congratulations and wished Jasprit that his son becomes another Bumrah in the future.

Before their group stage match in the competition, Indian and Pakistani cricketers were also seen sharing light-hearted moments. Virat Kohli met with Shaheen and others in the dressing room, fostering a sense of camaraderie despite the fierce on-field rivalry.

Rain played a significant role in the tournament, forcing a high-profile clash between India and Pakistan into a reserve day after only 24.1 overs of play in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup. India will resume their innings at 147-2 on Monday in the 50-over contest, following Pakistan's decision to bowl first in Colombo. The addition of an extra day to the Super Four match was a last-minute change, making it the only game to receive such an advantage, due to a previous group encounter between the two teams being washed out in Pallekele because of rain.
