New Delhi : In a recent turn of events, the rumors surrounding BCCI Secretary Jay Shah's alleged visit to Pakistan ahead of the Asia Cup have been clarified. Jay Shah himself confirmed that he will not be traveling to Pakistan for the tournament, putting an end to the speculations. The official schedule for the Asia Cup is yet to be announced, but it has been revealed that the tournament will adopt a hybrid model, with four matches scheduled to be played in Pakistan and the remaining games to be held in Sri Lanka.

Speaking to News18 CricketNext, Jay Shah expressed his dismay over the miscommunication, stating, "I have not agreed to anything. This is just plain miscommunication. Probably done deliberately or mischievously. I'll not be making any visit." His statement clears the air regarding his purported visit to Pakistan, refuting the false news circulating in the media.

The meeting between Jay Shah and PCB chief Zaka Ashraf took place recently in Durban on the sidelines of the ICC meet. However, since then, the Pakistani media has been reporting that Ashraf extended an invitation to Shah, which the BCCI Secretary supposedly accepted. These reports have now been debunked as completely false.

Arun Dhumal, the CEC representative of BCCI at ICC, also dismissed the rumors, emphasizing their lack of truth. "Whatever the reports, they're completely false," stated Dhumal to News18 CricketNext, asserting that there is no validity to the claims of Jay Shah accepting an invitation to visit Pakistan.
