Carl Pei's tech startup, Nothing, is reportedly getting ready to release the Nothing Phone (2a), which will be its next smartphone. Although official information is still being withheld, rumours and leaks from the industry point to a mid-range competitor with recognisable design features and maybe comparable specs.

Reports indicate that the Phone (2a) could stick to the transparent back design that made the Nothing Phone (1) so popular. The degree of transparency in comparison to the Phone (1) is yet unknown, although leaked photos appear to reveal a translucent rear panel displaying internal components.

Different leaks provide different information on the Nothing Phone (2a)'s display resolution and size. A somewhat bigger 6.7-inch panel with a typical 60Hz refresh rate is mentioned in some sources, while a 6.55-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate is suggested by others. Numerous publications make reference to both OLED technology and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Although it hasn't been verified with certainty, rumours indicate that the Nothing Phone (2a) could be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200-style mid-range CPU. If this chipset is accurate, it should provide good performance for daily work and light-duty gaming.

Expected Cost and Availability:

Launch: Although a formal launch date has not yet been disclosed, industry insiders anticipate that the Nothing Phone (2a) would have its world premiere in February 2024 at the forthcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC).

Based on leaked pricing information, the Nothing Phone (2a) may be priced under $400, or roughly Rs. 33,200. This would let it to beat some of its mid-range rivals. Hands-on evaluations and the phone's formal debut will clarify the specifics and determine whether the Phone (2a) lives up to the expectations and proves to be a worthy successor to its predecessor.
