Delhi : Google has announced that from January 17, 2024, you will no longer be able to purchase playback material via Google Play, but you will be able to do it through YouTube or Android TV.

Updates for Google Play Movies & TV and YouTube will begin on January 17, 2024, according to a post made by Google.

On Android TV-powered TVs and streaming devices: starting on January 17, 2024, you can view films you've already bought or rent new ones on Android TV by going to the Shop tab. Purchased titles, including those that are currently rented, may be found in the Your Library row under the Shop tab.

Regarding Android TV-powered set-top boxes or cable boxes: Starting on January 17, 2024, you will be able to watch films that you have already purchased or purchase and rent new films from Google using the YouTube app. On the YouTube app, you'll be able to access titles that you bought from Google, even ones that are currently rented.

In a web browser: YouTube will take over as your new place, starting on January 17, 2024, for watching films that you have already bought or renting new ones. On the YouTube website, you will be able to access the titles you bought from Google, including any active rentals. Please click this link to see if YouTube services are available in your nation.

"We're going to be making some adjustments to make it easier for you to buy new films or watch TV series and films that you've already bought on Google. Google Play Movies & TV will no longer be accessible on the Google Play website or Android TV devices as a result of these modifications. All of your previously purchased titles (including active rentals) will still be available for viewing on YouTube, Android TV devices, Google TV devices, and the Google TV mobile app for iOS and Android smartphones" , according to Google.
