LG 2024 OLED TVs lineup updates with new models

New Delhi : LG has announced its latest additions in OLED TVs just ahead of CES. The new lineup now includes B4, C4, G4 and M4 OLED TVs with a better sound system and picture quality. It must be noted that the newly added C4 and G4 models are entirely different from the C and G series models available earlier.

Meanwhile, Signature M4 and Gallery G4 OLED models share much of the similarities with its panel technology and internal specifications. Both the TV models come with Micro Lens Array technology (which LG Electronics now refers to as 'Light Control Architecture') at all sizes except 97 inches.

LG also mentions that OLEDs have been designed in a way that they have 70 per cent more brightness than traditional, non-Evo OLEDs such as the B4. These new TVs will also feature something LG is calling 'Peak Highlighter', which is specifically designed to boost the brightness of small, intense highlights and apparently allows the G4 and M4 to reach 150 per cent higher brightness than the B4 in a small 3 per cent window.

The G4 will be available in the familiar sizes of 55 inches, 65 inches, 77 inches, 83 inches, and 97 inches. The M4, on the other hand, introduces a new 65-inch size, alongside the same 77-inch, 83-inch, and 97-inch options as the M3 from the previous year. Similar to its forerunner, the M4 utilizes a wireless Zero Connect box to accommodate the internal components and port selection of the TV, featuring three HDMI 2.1 sockets. Notably, these specifications include wireless Dolby Vision, and for the year 2024, there is the addition of 4K/144Hz gaming signals when connected to a gaming PC with the capability to support it. Consoles will continue to operate at 4K/120Hz due to their inherent limitations.

A significant shared feature between the M4 and G4 is the introduction of the new Alpha 11 AI Processor. This chipset stands as LG's most advanced for televisions to date and is exclusively featured in these two flagship models. In contrast to previous years, where the C-series OLEDs shared a processor with the G-series, this is not the case in the current year. LG asserts that the Alpha 11 AI Processor delivers a notable 70% increase in graphics power and a 30% boost in general processing capabilities. Additionally, it introduces a range of new processing features.

LG's AI Picture Pro receives two novel enhancements: AI Director Processing, capable of identifying a director's intended color tone and adjusting the picture accordingly, and Object Enhancing by Visual Perception, involving the analysis and enhancement of each pixel. On the audio front, LG guarantees an enriched auditory experience through AI Sound Pro, which promises 'richer and fuller audio' via the integrated virtual 11.1.2 surround sound system.
