In an alleged terrorist attack, a man has reportedly been shot dead at Orly airport in Paris.
Sources reveal that the man tried to snatch a soldier’s gun and was reportedly shot dead by security forces after apparently seizing the weapon.
The man has not yet been identified but reports claim that he was killed inside the terminal at the airport, which is located to the south of the French capital.
Following shooting reports, the airport has been evacuated and anti-terrorist police has flooded into the area.
French police have confirmed there is an ongoing operation and advised the public to stay away from the area.
Police sources also revealed that the suspect was killed by troops taking part in Operation Sentinelle, a security initiative that has been in place since 2015, and involves some 7000 soldiers.
Their statement read: ‘It happened in the south terminal – it is being evacuated. Security forces at Paris Orly airport shot dead a man who took a weapon from a soldier’.
As per report, the man fled into a shop at the airport before he was shot dead. No people have been wounded in the incident.
