New Delhi : The Defence Minister of India, Shri Rajnath Singh, is set to embark on an official visit to Malaysia on July 10-11, 2023, aiming to further enhance bilateral defence cooperation and the existing Enhanced Strategic Partnership. This visit underscores the commitment of both nations to reinforce their robust and multifaceted relationship, encompassing various strategic areas, including defence and security.

During the visit, Shri Rajnath Singh will engage in crucial bilateral talks with his Malaysian counterpart, Defence Minister Mr Dato’ Seri Mohamad Hasan. The primary focus of these discussions will be to review the ongoing defence cooperation between the two countries and explore innovative initiatives aimed at strengthening their engagement. Additionally, the Ministers will exchange perspectives on regional and global issues of mutual interest.

Furthermore, Shri Rajnath Singh is scheduled to meet with the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Mr YB Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, during his visit. This meeting is expected to foster closer ties and facilitate a comprehensive dialogue on matters of common concern.

India and Malaysia share a profound interest in maintaining peace and promoting prosperity across the region. Their commitment to the vision of an Enhanced Strategic Partnership, which was established during the visit of Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to Malaysia in 2015, underscores their dedication to closer collaboration.
