Industry Stakeholders Meet 2026 – Bengaluru Roadshow Highlights Bihar as an Emerging Hub for Investment, Innovation and Industries
Bengaluru : Department of Industries, Government of Bihar organized Industry Stakeholders Meet 2026 – Bengaluru Roadshow at Oterra Hotel, Bengaluru, bringing together industry leaders, investors and stakeholders to explore investment opportunities in Bihar and strengthen industry partnerships.
The programme aimed to promote dialogue with industry leaders, showcase Bihar’s progressive industrial policies and attract investment across key sectors.
A detailed presentation on investment opportunities in Bihar was delivered by Shri Kundan Kumar, Secretary, Industries Department, and Managing Director of Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA), highlighting the state’s progressive policy reforms, expanding infrastructure and growing industrial ecosystem. Shri Kundan Kumar said “Bihar is entering a new phase of industrial development, supported by progressive policies, expanding infrastructure and a proactive governance approach. Initiatives such as the Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Package 2025, Bihar Semiconductor Policy 2026, Bihar GCC Policy and Bihar IT Policy are creating significant opportunities across manufacturing, technology services, electronics, logistics and other emerging sectors. I urge industry leaders and investors to explore the opportunities that Bihar offers and become partners in the state’s next phase of industrial growth.”
Further, Shri Abhay Kumar Singh, Secretary, Department of Information Technology, Government of Bihar, presented key features of the Bihar GCC Policy 2026 and Bihar IT Policy 2024, outlining the state’s strategy to promote technology services, global capability centres and digital innovation in Bihar.
The programme also featured experience sharing by existing investors, who highlighted their successful industrial journeys in Bihar and the supportive ecosystem created by the state government. Mrs Kumud Sharma, Executive Director, SuperSeva, appreciated the proactive approach of the Government of Bihar towards creating a conducive environment for industries and technology services.
Highlighting her company’s experience, she added that SuperSeva has recently secured a major order from a leading multinational company from US, and around 70 percent of the workforce supporting this project is operating from Bihar. She noted that this demonstrates the availability of skilled manpower and the growing potential of Bihar as a hub for technology-driven service operations.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Shri Vijay Kumar Upadhyaya, Director, IDA.
Earlier during the day, a delegation from the Government of Bihar led by Shri Kundan Kumar, Secretary – Industries, visited the Electronics City Industrial Township Authority (ELCITA) in Bengaluru to study best practices in smart industrial township development and sustainable infrastructure management.
The Bihar delegation comprised Shri Kundan Kumar, Secretary, Industries Department; Shri Abhay Kumar Singh, Secretary, Department of Information Technology; and Shri Mukul Kumar Gupta, Director, Industries Department.
During the meeting, the delegation interacted with Mr. V. Veerappan, Chairman, ELCITA, and members of ELCITA, Mr. Kiron Shah, Managing Director, Velankani Group; Mr. Shashi Shekhar, Advisor, Velankani Group; and Mr. Dinesh from Infosys, and discussed opportunities for collaboration, knowledge sharing and industrial development.
The delegation also observed presentations and demonstrations related to smart city governance systems, security infrastructure, sustainability initiatives and school upliftment programmes. The team later visited Sustainability Park-1, where they witnessed the operations of solid waste management systems and a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP).
During the interaction, Shri Kundan Kumar highlighted that Bihar is entering a new phase of industrialization, and the state government is working towards developing modern, well-planned industrial townships to support future industrial growth.
It was also discussed that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ELCITA may be explored in the future, positioning the organization as a knowledge partner for industrial township development in Bihar.
The delegation subsequently visited the Velankani manufacturing facility at Jigani Industrial Area. This was followed by a visit to the Velankani electronics manufacturing facility at Veerasandra Industrial Area.
The delegation also visited the Infosys campus. During the visit, the delegation observed several landmark infrastructures and facilities, including the Lime Glass Pyramid, Convention Hall, Heritage Red Brick Building, indoor recreational and play areas, multiple food courts, and an in-campus metro station dedicated to Infosys employees.
