Nodia company held for duping US software firm of Rs 14 crore, investigation on process

New Delhi : Shocking news reported from Delhi-NCR, Noida where a software company has been accused to have dupped a US-based software company. The CEO of US company claims that he has been duped of nearly Rs 14 crore by the owner of a Noida-based firm for almost a decade. The accused company was assigned to build technology support for the complainant company and providing Indian engineers. 

According to a reliable news agency, the  Noida-based firm's owner was accused of fraudulently hiring inexperienced software developers. Also, he forged their identities, experience and even employing ghost personnel while charging the American company heavily for the services. Sources confirmed that the offered services included developing software which it further sold to other clients in the United States from 2006 till 2015. 

The Uttar Pradesh police told the agency that they have launched an investigation in the case after a complaint was made by San Francisco, California based Phill Alaph, Director and CEO of technology company Vsolay Inc. The accused was identified as Himanshu Khatri, owner of the IT consultancy My Mind Infotech Pvt Ltd, located in the Sector-2, Noida.

As of now, an FIR was lodged on November 14 and it accused Khatri of yielding "extremely low quality" products because of these frauds which resulted in revenue and customer loss to the American firm.

The US company claimed that in 2006 when Himanshu Khatri said that he would hire individual software developers from India to build technology products for them. PTI mentioned that Alaph claimed in the FIR that the process for engaging these individuals has been that their CVs, education credentials, experience were scrutinised by Khatri and after verification, he would send them to the company along with a range of hourly compensation they expected to receive for their work.

Alaph also mentioned that Khatri had hired very inexperienced and junior persons but charged us for higher experienced persons. "All this continued to happen from 2006 to 2015 when, at the end of the year 2015, I came to know that Khatri has been perpetrating a deep fraud beginning at the earliest part of the engagement," he said.

Further, Alaph alleged that the most recent billing, which has run close to USD 40,000 per month, we now know that his total outlay to the team has been less than USD 8,000 per month. 

For now, police have started the investigation process and Noida Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Pal Sharma told PTI, that the complaint has been on the quality of software.
