Mukesh Ambani beats Elon Musk, becomes world's sixth richest man

Mumbai : Mukesh Ambani went past Elon Musk and Alphabet founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page to become the world's sixth-richest man.

The Reliance Industries Limited chairman now worths $72.4 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. His wealth rose dramatically after March when one of his companies Jio received huge amount of investments from companies including Facebook, Silver Lake and, most recently, Qualcomm.

Mukesh Ambani's energy empire is slowly shifting to e-commerce, with tech giants seeking to take a piece of India's fast-growing digital business.
