CBSE UGC NET 2017 for release gets delayed, likely to be issued by June 20

New Delhi : Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is yet to release official notification over the release of CBSE UGC NET Exam 2017 application form. As per several media reports, it has been learned that the notification will be released by June 20.

Last year the CBSE UGC NET July 2016 notification was released on April 12, 2016. But this year, the board has left student guessing about the release date.

The exam is normally conducted twice in a year, usually in the months of June and December, but since the past one year, it is being conducted in July and January.

CBSE conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC). The exams are conducted for the post of Assistant Professor, Junior Research Fellowship across the country.

Candidates willing to apply for CBSE UGC NET July 2017 should refer the eligible criteria carefully. Candidates should possess Master’s degree and have secured a minimum of 55% marks in the University for the post of JRF. Other details of the eligibility criteria can be referred online at cbsenet.nic.in.

The tentative date of CBSE UGC NET July 2017 exam is July 9. The maximum age limit of UGC NET July 2017 is 28 years (for JRF) and the maximum age limit for Assistant professor is: No Upper Age limit for UGC NET July 2017.

No PhD without NET

The UGC has also uploaded new sets of draft regulations on its website according to which, getting admission to PhD will now be quite difficult.  The draft regulation has suggested that the institutions which come under 'Category III Institution' would enroll candidates who have qualified the NET or SLET or SET examinations for their PhD courses only.
