New Delhi : The Institute of Cost Accountants of India will organise the National CAT Students' Convention 2026 on Saturday, 14 March 2026 from 10:30 AM onwards at the Thiruvambady Convention Centre, Marar Road, Thrissur.

The convention is being organised with the objective of promoting employable skills among youth and strengthening industry-relevant accounting competencies. The programme will feature interactive sessions, cultural activities, and the conferment of Awards of Merit to Rank Holder Students of the CAT Examination. Around 1,000 students from across the country are expected to participate in the event.

Speaking about the initiative, CMA Rajendra Singh Bhati, Chairman (CAT), said that the convention aims to encourage skill-based learning and provide a platform for students to interact, learn, and celebrate academic excellence.

He further informed that the The Institute of Cost Accountants of India is a premier statutory professional body established under the Cost Accountants Act, 1959 for the regulation and development of the profession of Cost and Management Accountancy in India. The Institute functions under the administrative control of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and is recognised as the largest Cost and Management Accounting body in the world, with around 1,00,000 qualified Cost Accountants and nearly 6,00,000 students pursuing the CСМА Course.

To strengthen the skill ecosystem for entry-level accounting professionals, the Institute introduced the Certificate in Accounting Technicians (CAT) Course in 2009, in consultation with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
