DD Kisan to Showcase Stories of Women Farmers’ Struggles and Success
New Delhi : On the occasion of Women Farmers’ Day on 15th October, DD Kisan will air a special program showcasing the inspiring stories of progressive women farmers and their journeys of struggle and success. This year marks the tenth Women Farmers’ Day in India, with the first observance held in 2016.
Several dignitaries and eminent personalities from the agricultural sector attended the recording of the program at the DD Kisan studio. They extended their greetings and best wishes to women farmers. Among the attendees were Prasar Bharati Chairman Navneet Kumar Sehgal, CEO Gaurav Dwivedi, Doordarshan Director General K. Satish Nambudripad, DD Kisan Deputy Director Lokman Singh, and Deputy Director & Program Head Rajkumar Nahar, all of whom conveyed their heartfelt wishes to the women farmers.
The program will feature prominent women farmers, including Padma Shri Rajkumari Devi, famously known as Kisan Chachi, Padma Shri Kamatchi Chellammal, also known as Nariyal Amma, Vimala Sinwar, India’s first “Namo Drone Didi”, agricultural entrepreneur Annu Kanawat, Padma Shri Janak Palta, recognized for her work in energy conservation, and Renu Sangwan, known for her extraordinary contributions to dairy farming.
Adding a cultural dimension to the program, the event will also feature a vibrant Kalbelia dance performance by Padma Shri Gulabo Sapera, celebrating Rajasthani folk culture and its global appeal.
